Environmental Information
We are pleased to announce that a website has been developed to aid environmental e-learning within the furniture industry.
The purpose of the website is to enable furniture companies to proactively ensure they are tackling environmental issues. There is on-line environmental course material developed by a furniture industry environmental consultant - Alistair Bromhead, this is supported by an e-learning assessment section.
The website will enable you to raise your awareness of environmental issues facing the furniture industry by addressing environmental sustainability and offering your business the opportunity to upskill your staff to meet the demand of environmental policies, at your own pace and in your own office.
The topics covered are:
- Introduction to environmental management
- Environmental legislation
- Air emissions
- Waste management and minimisation
- Water and land management
- Energy management
- Environmental management systems
Please browse the website and test your knowledge through the e-learning questions. There is also a training manual available for download in PDF, which you can keep for future reference.
The website is called www.ecofurniture.org.
Please feel free to feedback your thoughts and comments to info@ffinto.org.
The design and content of the website has been developed for a project to increase management skills in the furniture industry - this was financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Learning Skills Council (LSC). Alistair Bromhead and British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) have worked in partnership with FFINTO to develop the website.
